Hi all. i just installed the shift kit to my car, took me around
2.5 hours to do... not that hard of a job except for taking the pan off... i had
to ring Neil up to make sure there wasnt some special technique to take it off,
I was told to pry harder at it... anyway once the pan was off i undid the filter
and a whole heap of more fluid came running down my arm. mind u im on my back
with the car on ramps, so i couldnt just jump outta the way.. Removing the vlave
body was a simple enough job, just make sure u take off the solenoid that covers
the kick down cable first so that u can remove the cable itself.. makes it much
easier. put the new spring supplied on and fitted the solenoids too, put the
valve body back in and bolt it up again... once all the bolts were in place i
then noticed next to my head this little piece of plastic with a bearing on it
and a spring attached to it.... I was like SHIT!!!! what the hell is this???
where does it go??? OMG i just screwed up and all was going soooo sooo well...
so i pulled the valve body off again and looked around to see where it goes..
still no idea. Rang Neil again but he had shot off to the post office.. hehe...
i bet he was going for lunch and didnt want to answer my call haha.. any way i
then realised that i should ring Michael from MV authomatics.. and told him of
my situation he told me that i should just throw it away coz i didnt need it...
haha. i laughed and then cursed... anyway i put the thing back in... sealed the
pan up with some goo gasket.. and refilled with new type 4 fluid...
after
cleaning up the fluid that was all over the driveway, then taking a shower, i
took the car for a drive, down the street i took it easy coz there is a skool
next to my house... the car felt normal.. gear changes were quicker but u
wouldnt notice it if it werent ur car. i was thinking to myself.. is that it???
got to the main road and when the lights turned green, i planted it... first
gear was still the same, but as soon as second gear hit the car launched forward
throwing my head back in the seat... it was AWESOME!!! got onto the freeway and
planted it again.. and the change from first to second is mad and 3rd to 4th is
fantastic...
I love it... everday driving my girlfriend couldnt even tell
the difference... but when i floored it and she got thrown back in her seat...
hehee...
just realised that the pan is leaking so i rang Michael and he
pointed out that the 91 MX83 Cressidas gasket fits perfect. so im gonna put that
on later when the car cools down...
So overall was the kit worth it?
Hell Yeah...
Was it easy to install? if i can do it anyone can.
Thanks for your Help Caesar(buying), Adam(delivering), Neil and Michael

Hmm... now the feelings are evening up. If anyone with a shift kit wants to offer a passenger seat drive next cruise, I'd be very appreciative. I think it sounds exactly what I want, but considering that 80% of the driving I do is peakhour city driving, I need to to still be comfortable when driving sedately.
